Pronounced “Tee-Play”, meaning treble, this tiny Spanish instrument was built in
the 1920-30’s and looks like a shrunken guitar but sounds like a chorus. It has
10 strings, grouped in 2’s and 3’s. I believe the top is Spanish cedar and the
back is mahogany. What a surprising sound it has, wish it could be used more
often. It is easy to play, but hard to play well.
